Meet The Club’s fitness experts
Alex grew up and attended high school in Puckett, MS. He played football, baseball, and competed in powerlifting. During his high school football career he played in two state championships. His team won it his junior year and lost his senior year. He was then recruited by Belhaven College to play football; he played four years as a fullback at Belhaven. At Belhaven he is majoring in Sports medicine /Exercise science. He is also AFAA certified personal trainer.
Amy Batson, director of The Club at St. Dominic's, received her degree in Fitness Management from Mississippi State University and completed an internship in cardiovascular rehabilitation at East Jefferson General Hospital in Metarie, LA. Amy has taught hydrotherapy for traumatic brain injury patients and has 19+ years in medical based fitness/training. Currently, she holds certifications from the American Heart Association in CPR as both an instructor and trainer. She has been a certified instructor with United States Water Fitness Association since 2000. Amy has been an instructor for Silver Sneakers-Range of Motion since 2007 and also United States Water Fitness Association instructor/trainer since 2008. Amy also served on the Education Committee for the Medical Fitness Association. The Club at St. Dominic's has been recognized by the National Aquatic Programs as being one of the Top 25 aquatic programs in the country and was also selected by the Jackson Free Press readers as one of the Best of Jackson-Places to workout under Amy's direction.
Bethany is currently pursuing her degree in psychology at Mississippi State University. Bethany received personal training certification from The Aerobics and Fitness Association of America. She has experience in training with many different age groups. She has spent time as an instructor for Children’s fitness. She desires to actively participate in helping others reach their health and fitness goals. She believes in the importance of meeting people where they are and adjusting her training style for each individual client. Bethany plans to devote her full attention and effort to each client in order to maintain a professional and rewarding relationship.
Catie Horne is a certified personal trainer through International Sports Conditioning Association (ISCA). She has been a personal trainer for 4 years and has a background of competing in NPC bodybuilding competitions as a bikini and figure competitor. She is currently enrolled at Mississippi State University majoring in Kinesiology. Catie is from Kosciusko, Ms where she graduated from Kosciusko High School ad worked at her family's gym throughout her youth. This is where she discovered her passion for health and fitness. She believes that you are never too young nor too old to achieve a healthy lifestyle.
Chloe is a Certified Personal Trainer through the Interactive Fitness Trainers of America (IFTA). She has also been a certified Group Fitness Instructor with over 11 years of experience. She received a BS degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and an AA degree from Hinds C.C. Chloe grew up in Brandon, MS and played sports to stay active during her youth. She has always loved dance and was excited to be chosen as a member of the NWR Drill Team during high school. She graduated from NWR High School and went on to Hinds C.C. where she joined the Hi-Stepper precision dance line. It was around this time that she took her first kickboxing class at a local gym and absolutely loved it. She realized that fitness should be challenging, as well as fun, in order to enjoy exercise and make it a lifestyle. She has a passion for fitness and loves to motivate her clients through positive encouragement while stressing the importance of achieving goals through determination, perseverance and hard work.
Evelyn comes to us with a variety of experiences. She was born in Meridian and moved to Enterprise at age 9. After high school and earning a Degree in Broadcast Communications in 2002, Evelyn worked as a television news technical director for WIAT-TV 42 (CBS) in Birmingham, Alabama, WCSC-TV 5 (CBS) in Charleston, South Carolina, and WTOK-TV 11 (ABC) here in Meridian. After 12 years in Broadcasting, Evelyn decided to return to college to pursue her passion for fitness. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from the University of West Alabama in May of 2014. While in college, she was named the 2014 Outstanding Exercise Science Student and participated in several undergraduate research projects. She is an American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Certified Exercise Physiologist, Certified Personal Trainer, and Certified Group Exercise Instructor. She is also an RRCA Certified Running Coach and a TRX Instructor.
Her obsession: Running. In 2006 she began running after a co-worker asked her to help manage a team for a local charity 5K. She continued to run 5K’s and 10K’s to stay fit until 2009 when she finally gathered enough courage to run her first marathon. As of 2018, she has completed over 60 marathons and more than 150 other distance races including triathlons and a 50-mile ultramarathon. Also in 2018, she will have run a marathon in each of the 50 states. She is a member of Marathon Maniacs and the 50 states marathon Club.

Evelyn and her Husband, Wes, live in Meridian with their 4 “children”- dogs Willie and Max, and two cats, Phoebe and Drake.
Frances grew up in Carrollton, MS where she played softball, basketball, and ran track at Carroll Academy. After high school, Frances attended Delta State University where she majored in Physical Education and minored in Health and History. Upon graduation from DSU, Frances continued her passion for fitness and personal training by obtaining her NASM Performance Enhancement Specialist certification, along with becoming a Sports Specific Athletic Trainer and Health Specialist. In 10 years of training, she has worked with all kinds of injuries and all fitness level and has a passion for helping others reach their health and fitness goals, no matter their fitness level. Jennifer's health and fitness journey began when she started practicing yoga at the age of eighteen as a natural approach to anxiety. After experiencing the benefits of a healthy and active lifestyle, her interest in fitness continued to grow. After moving to Meridian in 2007, she became a certified yoga and kickboxing instructor and continues to enjoy teaching group fitness classes. Wanting to work more directly with people to help them meet their health and fitness goals, she became an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer in 2015. Jennifer encourages a holistic approach to health by attending to the physical, mental and spiritual aspects of life. Her training style emphasizes functional training and many Yoga and Pilates-based exercises. Her favorite piece of equipment is the kettlebell for its total-body benefits and a wide variety of use. She is passionate about encouraging and helping others to be the healthiest version of themselves and enjoys being able to do that as a personal trainer.
Exercise Physiology (Ole Miss)
Worked in OT/PT clinic in North Mississippi Regional Center in Oxford, MS designing therapeutic exercise programs for special populations with diagnoses ranging from cerebral palsy to quadriplegia.

My philosophy: “ Movement is a medicine for creating change in a person’s physical, emotional, and mental states.” (Carol Welch) We’re not simply changing how you look on the outside; we’re also changing how you feel on the inside.
I have exercised regularly for two and a half years. Recently, however, my motivation to get to the gym decreased, and my weight increased as a result. My problem wasn’t that I didn’t know what to do, it was that I didn’t have the accountability, discipline, and motivation to follow-through with what I knew. I love group fitness classes, but I started talking myself out of going because the classes would still go on whether I was there or at home. I knew I had to do something to get back on track so I started to train with Jonathan three days a week. So far I have only missed one of ten sessions (not bad), and I have lost inches and gained a much more toned physique. I’ve gotten so many compliments from people at work and the gym regarding the results. It does take work, a lot of sweat and perseverance but having someone waiting on me (and only me) to get to the gym is completely what I needed.
Mandi was born and raised in Louisiana. She received her Bachelors at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. After grad school, she decided to get certified in P90X LIVE because she really had a passion for helping people achieve a healthier lifestyle and hit their fitness goals. One of the most rewarding things for her, is seeing a client accomplish something that they couldn't weeks before, and knowing that she was able to help them achieve that.
EXPERIENCE: Robert Russell is a USPTA certified professional, from Gulfport, MS. Robert graduated from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1972. Robert played basketball for Bert Jenkins at Gulfport High School, then played at Gulf Coast Junior College and Mississippi State University on a basketball scholarship. Robert has lived in the Jackson area for twenty years and is married to Bry Russell, and has three children and seven grandchildren. In 1994, Robert was designated as a Mississippi Tennis Professional. Robert has been coaching tennis for over forty years. Robert has trained and instructed over three hundred state, southern and nationally ranked juniors, as well as over 100 college players and two ATP touring professionals. Seth Moes was born in Atlanta, GA and grew up in Brandon, MS. He graduated from Jackson Academy in 2002 where he played baseball from 7-12th grade, winning the state championship senior year. Seth went on to play baseball at Pearl River Community College, but was injured so he turned his focus towards education. After Pearl River, Seth attended Mississippi College and majored in Exercise Science. He has spent the last 12 years as a Personal Trainer, including working with collegiate and professional athletes for over 6 years.
Seth has personally competed and trained clients for races, bodybuilding shows, and overall athletic performance. In the past 12 years Seth has also worked closely in rehabilitating dozens of injured athletes/clients of all types.
Stacie grew up in Fayetteville, GA. She graduated from Kennesaw State University with a bachelors degree in Exercise and Health Science. She completed an internship with Atlanta Falcons Physical Therapy during her last semester of college. After graduation, she went on a mission trip to Wales where she worked in schools with their sports programs. She enjoys running and getting involved with local community runs.
Stephanie Savorgnan has experience as an athletic trainer, instructor, and club manager. She has worked with athletes/clients of all kinds and ages. At USM, Stephanie worked with football, soccer, volleyball, baseball, basketball, softball, and tennis teams. Stephanie's specialization is in Sports Medicine, which ranges from strength and conditioning o post-surgery/injury rehabilitation. While at The Club, she has helped a number of clients by designing exercise programs to specifically meet individual needs and goals. Steven Ross grew up in Madison, MS. He attended Madison Ridgeland Academy and Madison Central High School. He went on to attend Ole Miss and graduated from Mississippi State University in 2004 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology and Psychology. His interest in physical fitness has developed into a passion for a healthier lifestyle. Steven placed in multiple divisions of the 2013 NPC Men’s Physique Competition. He strives to bring the best out in people and help them succeed.
Travis grew up in the small town of Paris, Tennessee where he played football and ran track in high school. He then went to pursue a degree in Kinesiology- Exercise Science and graduated from Mississippi College. While attending Mississippi College he worked and interned with the Choctaw athletic training staff for 3 years. Upon Completing his degree Travis gained his Certified Health and Fitness Specialist certification from the American College of Sports Medicine. Travis is an avid outdoorsman and sports enthusiast.
Danielle is from Brandon, MS and now resides in Biloxi, MS. She is a certified personal trainer through National Academy of Sports Medicine and has worked in the fitness industry for over 10 years. She moved to the Gulf Coast in October 2017 when she was promoted to District Manager. Danielle is just a regular girl who loves to cook real food, lift heavy stuff, and enjoy life. The realization that good quality nutrition and progressive workouts have such an important role in achieving health and physical fitness inspired her to become a personal trainer. She likes to introduce women to more weight training beyond cardio, by not only building muscle, but self-confidence and self-worth. However, she loves the challenge of pushing the male member to the limit as well.
Jenna is from Ocean Springs, MS. She earned her bachelor's degree at the University of Mississippi in Business Administration with emphasis in Accounting. She is now pursuing another degree from University of Alabama in Food and Nutrition with aspirations to become a Registered Dietitian. Jenna has lived a healthy and fit lifestyle by being involved in dance for fourteen years where she was an assistant ballet teacher. Currently, she enjoys practicing yoga during her spare time. She enjoys helping others pursue "their" fit and healthy life.
Collin is the Fitness Manager for Club 4 Fitness Gulfport. He started his life in fitness when I had to gain strength and size for football in high school. Football ended but fitness remained. Collin continued to work out and became more knowledgeable in the fitness world throughout his college career. He attended The University of Mississippi where he earned his degree in Exercise Science and was the Captain of the 2012 College World Championship Cheer Team. Collin earned his Personal Training Certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine in 2013, and began training in Atlanta, Georgia. After a few years of training he became a Training Officer for Athens Regional Hospital Security where he implemented the new hire physical agility test for their program. Collin is now living on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and working for the city of Gulfport as a Firefighter/EMT. He is excited that Club 4 Fitness gives me the opportunity to continue my love of fitness and to hopefully pass that love on to someone else.
Fitness is a part of your lifestyle! It provides us with the ability to have a healthier journey as we work toward our goals to be stronger version of ourselves each day. This is why I chose to become a group fitness instructor 14 years ago. I have always been active in the gym but never thought I could actually teach classes. And here I am continuing my journey to help others become healthier and stronger with each class I teach!
As a group fitness instructor, my role is to motivate, encourage, and help others be successful. I teach formats from Zumba, HIIT, Cardio/Core, Strength Training, Kickboxing, Cycle, AFTA women’s strength training and AFAA certified, and pre-certified to teach Body Pump. I love to spend time outdoors and with my family! As a group fitness instructor and educator I always seek ways to better myself so that I can help others! Shane is a Certified Personal Trainer. He was always the heavy kid growing up. He got picked on and had self confidence issues. One day he looked in the mirror and realized how truly disgusted he was with himself. Shane realized that the weight had to come off and there was no other option. He started paying much closer attention to his eating habits and began running 3-5 days a week. He lost 80lbs. After the weight came off, he became getting into strength training. The effect that his own health and fitness journey had on his life inspired him to acquire a personal training certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine in June of 2017. Shanes mission is to permanently and positively impact the lives of as many individuals as possible, while leaving the world a better place than he found it in all ways.
Carlton is a Certified Personal Trainer with a background in athletics and a passion for helping others. He found a career in health and fitness and it has been a perfect fit for him. Carlton began training in his hometown of Hattiesburg, MS in 2013, as an ISSA certified fitness trainer. His journey has now brought him to The Gulf Coast, after getting married. He is looking forward to helping people embrace their health and fitness lifestyle.

Sarah’s personal preference in the gym is “Powerbuilding” a combination between powerlifting and bodybuilding training. She has experience in “Boot Camp” training which is Conditioning combined with Strength training. Sarah loves fitness and spending time in the gym. She believes a healthy lifestyle outside of the gym is most important for your overall greatness.
Alex is a Mississippi State graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology. She is an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer, CrossFit L-2 Trainer, CrossFit Kids Trainer, ACE Fitness Nutrition Specialist, ACE Sports Conditioning Specialist and ACE Mind Body Specialist. She also holds an ACE Group Fitness certification and various certifications in aquatics. Alex’s goal is to help others lead happier and healthier lives spiritually, physically, and mentally so they are equipped for success in and out of the gym. Overall, physical fitness should never be viewed as an “end goal” but rather an ever-changing skill set and creation of healthy habits that will last a lifetime.
Rob Owens is a native of Meridian, Mississippi who graduated from Meridian High School. He always had a love for sports and fitness. It all started when he was twelve years old. He helped his teammates win the Magnolia Little League Baseball Championship. Being a teenager, he taught young children the fundamentals of sports and finding alternative outlets for making bad choices in life. As an adult, he volunteered as a leader and organizer for the Royal Rangers at his local church. He taught the principles of helping young men grow physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually. He later followed one of his dreams by winning the 2001 Mississippi Junior and the 2005 Mississippi State Bodybuilding Championship. He is a certified Fitness Trainer and Nutritional Specialist with International Sports Science Association and also certified in Adult CPR/ AED Standard First Aid.
He has been a competitive bodybuilder for 10 years, but he is currently serving as a judge for the National Physique Committee. His greatest joy is assisting people to become healthy and improve their quality of life through healthy eating habits and daily exercise. He has helped several clients to fulfill their dreams of competing and placing first place in bodybuilding, fitness, and bikini divisions. Utilizing knowledge and past experiences, he creates a positive and enjoyable environment for his clients. His philosophy emphasizes the continual lifelong learning as he works toward enhancing the well-being of his clients on their journey to a healthier lifestyle.
